The men and women of our department work tirelessly each day alongside the committed team members from local fire departments, rescue, and law enforcement to ensure citizens and visitors of McDowell County receive professional and quality service that exceeds national standards.  Our EMS division is leading the way in rural pre-hospital care, while our innovative Community Paramedic Program improves the lives and health of our most vulnerable population.  Our state of the art 911 Communications Center is using advanced technology to process 911 calls in a timely manner, while our EM team works to prepare for the next disaster.  Thank you for taking the time to visit our site.  Please contact us should you have any questions about our agency.

McDowell EMS Opens Two New Stations:

EMS Station 4 located in US 221 North in Marion opened March 16, 2021.  McDowell County Emergency Services Headquarters opened June 2, 2022 at 129 Barnes Rd. in Marion.  The new four station setup allows EMS to be strategically placed on the north and south end of US 221 Bypass to respond to all emergencies within the city of Marion and our outlying communities. The four station plan will reduce response times for our community.
