Work Begins on Two New EMS Stations
We are excited to announce the start of construction and renovation at our new EMS facility along US 221 North, which will soon be EMS Station 4! The McDowell County Board of Commissioners recently approved and awarded contracts for a new Headquarters to be built along Barnes Rd. in Marion and the renovation and new construction of the former bank facility along US 221 North. Once the two new facilities are opened, the current EMS station in downtown Marion will be closed. The new four station setup will allow EMS to be strategically placed on the north and south end of US 221 Bypass to respond to all emergencies within the city of Marion and our outlying communities. The four station plan will reduce response times for our community. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to sharing additional updates with you. A formal ground-breaking ceremony for our Headquarters will be announced soon!
